SHEENA (2000-2002
TV series)
Episodes Guide - Season 2 |
|
|
|
INTRODUCTION |
The second season of the Gena Lee
Nolin Sheena series comprised 13 episodes that screened from 6 October 2001
to 23 February 2002. All of the principal stars - Gena Lee
Nolin as Sheena, John Allen Nelson as Matt Cutter, Margo Moorer as Kali
and Kevin Quigley as Mendelsohn - were retained for the second series.
Veryl Jones continued to make regular guest appearances as Rashid,
a Maltakan National Ranger.
Several interesting guest stars appeared on the program during Season 2
- Ron Ely,
who played the lead role in 57 episodes of Tarzan
from Sep 66 to Mar 68 appeared as a vicous killer in The Feral King;
Peter Reckell, who played Bo Brady for 10 years on the daytime
soap, The Days
of Our Lives, added Sheena to his list of feminine conquests in
Rendezvous; and Laila Ali, the daughter of Muhammad
Ali, played a female boxer in Meltdown In Maltaka.
The most notable thing about Season 2 is that Gena Lee Nolin appears
to have gained a substantial amount of weight since completing the filming
of the first season's episodes. This can be confirmed by a comparison
of Episode No. 122, Unsafe Passage, and Episode No 201, The Maltaka
Files. |

who has hired Cutter to guide her and a group of heavies led by a
viscous character named Bixby. Sheena finds the boy, who is

but he is easily spooked and runs away. Sheena joins Cutter
and Andrea, who confides that the boy is really Jared Chambers,

plane crash that stranded Jared in the LaMistas. Bixby, and
his accomplice, Roland Chambers, the executor to the Chambers'
fortune engineered the Chambers' plane crash and must now kill Jared

Reports of strange behaviour
in both Kali's village and the surrounding villages makes Kali suspect
that a banished Nayakan Shaman named Kon Ti has returned. She
is worried that he is using a forbidden hypnotic drug called alodia,
extracted from the Kalosa plant, to bend the will of the people to
his wishes. Cutter becomes involved when a truckload of tourists
being driven by Mendelsohn are attacked by some crazed tribesmen.
Sheena becomes the Darak'na, knowing Kon Ti fears it, and attacks
one his trucks full of harvested Kalosa plants. Kon Ti, however,
learns that Sheena is the Darak'na, when his "familiar",
a hawk, transfers it's vision to Kon Ti. Rashid falls under
the alodia spell when he tries to reason with Kon Ti, who orders him
to abduct Kali. Sheena and Cutter investigate Kali's disappearance
at Kon Ti's lair, a cavern in the mountains (right). Kali, now
under Kon Ti's alodia spell, bewitches them both with the drug but
Sheena manages to break the spell. She and Cutter do battle
with Kon Ti's men and Rashid, while Kali battles Kon Ti with sorcery
in the spiritual realm of the mind. Kali kills Kon Ti and his
power over Rashid and others is broken. |

Sheena pursues a woman who
has blown up the Supply Depot, badly injuring Rashid, and manages
to defeat and capture her after a viscous fight. Meanwhile,
two CIA agents, Devlin and Hansen, aware of Cutter's past, approach
him to help them catch a CIA traitor named Cassandra, who they say
has just killed two CIA operatives at the Supply Depot. Cutter
leads them after Sheena, aware she has pursued the bomber, but they
try to kill Cassandra as soon as they see her. Cutter smells
a rat and joins Sheena and her prisoner, and the three escape into
the jungle. Cutter figures out that Cassandra has been duped
into killing two bona fide agents in a rogue CIA operation. Cutter
recognises Cassandra from a CIA training camp 10 years earlier and
learns she has a crush on him. Devlin and Hansen call in a dozen
mercenaries as backup. Sheena, Cutter and Cassandra take refuge
in an abandoned Ranger Station, where they become involved in a savage
fire fight against Devlin and Hansen's reinforcements (right). When

A plane carrying vaccine
for an outbreak of Hepatitis A in Kali's village is hijacked as
it arrives at Uhura airport. Also aboard is Biholo, a minister
from neighbouring Dufari making a secret visit to begin peace negotiations.
Cutter calls in an expert hostage negotiator: his ex-wife, Amanda
Prentice, which generates unexpected feelings of jealousy within Sheena.
Amanda learns that the terrorists are after the release of a
dangerous Dufari revolutionary who once tried to assassinate President
N'Gama. The terrorists demand a shipment of blankets and when
Sheena, wearing overalls, delivers them her jungle senses tell her
that the plane's crew are not fearful and Amanda concludes they are
accomplices. They soon discover that the hostages have been
moved from the plane using the blankets as a screen. Using old
tunnels under the runway the hostages have been relocated to a large
hangar nearby and Amanda decides they are trying to assassinate N'Gama,
who is moved to safety. The Darak'na infiltrates the hangar
via the underground tunnels, overcomes the terrorists and frees the
hostages. Sheena understands Cutter still has strong feelings

President N'Gama appoints
Mako, a childhood friend of Sheena's, as the head of a new education
project, but he is actually opposed to the project as he doesn't want
"free thinkers" in his country. N'Gama, and his aide,
Rafika, plot to have Mako and Bantee, an ambitious plantation owner,
destroy each other. Kali informs Cutter that Mako and Sheena
were once very close, and Cutter's jealousy urges him to spy on them
talking. He spots an assassin with a rifle, who fires at Mako
but Sheena eliminates the killer. Rafika and Bantee arrange to
have two new arriving teachers kidnapped but Sheena changes into a
serval and locates them in an underground cell. Cutter learns
that Mako knows about Sheena's shape-changing abilities. The
footage on the teacher's video camera shows that Rafika was involved
in the kidnapping and when Mako confronts him about it at a meeting
Rafika threatens to kill both Mako and Bantee. The Darak'na
intervenes and both Rafika and Bantee are killed. N'Gama, fearful
of the incriminating video footage, opens Mako's school and Cutter
learns that there are still some secrets between him and Sheena. Mako
